My Mission

Join me, my Netbook, and a few changes of underwear, on a documented journey through Southeastern Europe.

Start: Bucharest, Romania on June 29th

End: Split, Croatia on July 25th

About me: I’m a Michigander with a very serious travel problem.

I graduated from the University of Michigan with dual degrees in Communications Studies and Vocal Performance, both of which prepared me to perpetually ask ‘what do I do now with my life?’  Fortunately, there’s always been my passion for travel, which was sparked one magnificent Florentine summer (magari!), and in subsequent years of my studies developed into a full blown series of summer love affairs. Sure, long-distance is tough, but Europe and I managed to see each other every few months. Fortunately, when I graduated in 2009 I moved to Berlin where I have been since, singing in an opera chorus, and attempting to improve my German and Italian language skills. Although I’ll always be Europe’s girl at heart, come August 2011 you’ll find me based out of NYC.

Great blog! Love hearing about travels. I plan on visiting the Balkans this July!

I’m surprised more people haven’t stumbled across your blog! It was one of the first things that came up when I googled Balkans Vacation Trips and Tips.

Anyway, great photos, great information, entertaining stories. 🙂

Any tips welcome, from travel to the Balkans, stretching my dollar via travel, food, and drink, etc.

    Thank you!

I’m stoked to have found this blog. I am planning a grand Balkan backpacking excursion this summer. I consider this to be research. From what I have gathered thus far, I stumbled into something good. If you get a lot of hits from someone in Hungary, I’m to blame.
